Tree Bird!

Foo was waiting and hoping for that popular guitar intro, when he realized that this was a sculpture of "tree" birds and not "free" birds, even though you can look at it for free.

Don't Get Carried Away

When Foo took a walk along the water in Galveston, the seagull were massive and kept dive-bombing people, like this guy here who was carried off and who knows what happened to him. Foo kept his eyes on the sky after that.

Cheer Up Kitty Friend!

Foo's kitty buddy Milo was feeling a little down one day so Foo decided he really needed to jump up next to him and cheer him up.
After a few jokes that went nowhere, Foo finally got a snicker out of the little cat when he started to rip on the birds that smacked into the windows.
Although Milo wasn't completely out of his funk, Foo did get him to smile for the camera. Foo's such a good friend.

Birds or Chameleons?

When Foo found these green brushed sculptures, he couldn't help wonder what lived in those little holes? Was it birds? Was it chameleons? Was it the minds of conservative whack jobs (they're small)?
He waited and waited to see, and finally out from one of these holes came a tiny flying monkey with a pig nose. It was so weird! But since he couldn't get a picture of the pig-nose monkey with wings... he doesn't think anyone will believe him.

For the Birds

At the Swamp Shop, Foo was greeted by an assortment of feathered friends, some large and some small. This one tried to convince Foo that it was a pelican, but Foo was not fooled. He knows REAL pelicans are really tall and pink.
Foo did love the quiet serenity of this other bird, a heron who amazingly had the power to freeze in mid air... but maybe it was because it was a painting.

Weather Birds Fly

Foo was glad to run into these weather birds at the Orange Show. They were very helpful in letting him know that the rain would, indeed, hold off long enough for him to finish his visit.

For the Birds

Told that this sculpture was named Personage and Birds by artist Joan Miro, he tried and tried to see it, but his abstractions were sorely lacking. At last, when he was ready to leave and jump back in the car, he saw it! It's a woman with the round head and triangle body, and overhead are the flying red, blue and yellow birds... weird.

He Layed a Foo!

Foo was having so much fun with his metal birdie friends that he decided he could help out this friend who had just laid an egg and needed to go get food. Foo jumped right up and settled in to warm the fragile orb and the big momma bird took off. Luckily she wasn't gone long because Foo had places to be!

Love Birds

These two metal birds were so in love that no matter what Foo did to get their attention, they wouldn't turn for the camera. Must be nice.... Foo wants a girlfriend, too...

When You Met-al Friend For Life...

Foo was the Belle of the Big Iron Ball here, making fantastic friends of all kinds, shapes, and sizes.
