Children of the Bricks

Foo was kinda creeped out by these children coming out of the bricks when he walked by this park. He tried to help them out, but they just couldn't get themselves separated enough. Poor kids!

Museum Coming Down the Street

Well really Foo was coming down the street and saw the Wells Fargo History Museum, not the other way around, so the song didn't exactly work. Foo does still love to channel the Music Man though.

Free Paving Bricks

Foo was beginning to walk around Charlotte and he found the Liberty Walk. He was certainly glad that the streets here are free. Foo hates paying for just walking around.

Eskimo Cool

Foo thought it totally fitting that an ice cream place like Dairy Queen finally embraced the cold-living part of society: Eskimos. This one was a little odd, hanging out on top of the building, but what a way to advertise!

Spitting Distance

Foo found this really cool head sculpture at a business plaza near his hotel. 

The only problem was that when Foo got too close, the statue actually spit on his head. Not the shower he had been expecting, but it was a very bracing way to begin the morning.

Mega Moose

Foo was just driving along and almost literally ran into this moose! Foo jumped out of the car and made sure the big guy was okay. Foo does kinda drive fast! No worries, Murray was in fine spirits.

Big Writer

Foo just loves to write, and he's a pretty big influence, so he figured he'd need a pretty big pencil to make sure he could convey all his big thoughts. This one did not disappoint.

Water Balloons

Foo has heard of water balloons before, but this one really took the cake. Not only was is full of water, it had a fabulous fashion sense!

A Town Named Odd

Foo went way out of his way to visit a very strange town by the name of Odd. It was really just too odd to pass up.

Even better, Foo found a sign for the Odd church. Although kind of redundant because churches are, indeed, odd, Foo still found it amusing that they were aware of it too.

Capitalizing on Vacation

On Foo's voyage, he found himself in the capital of West Virginia and decided to check out the capitol building in Charleston.

Although Foo couldn't actually go in the building due to time constraints and lack of government-issued ID, he had a good time walking around the building and finding cool statues, like Stonewall Jackson, a confederate general.

But even more awesome, was this great statue of the Union side leader, Mr. Abraham Lincoln who was saddened and pacing when faced with the horrible advent of the Civil War.

What a Babe!

Foo was just strolling along and came across his good friend Paul and Foo's favorite blue ox by the name of Babe. They use to be a lot bigger.... or maybe Foo is just larger than life too!

Mothman Foo

Just around the corner, Brian found this board that gave Foo a chance to be the mothman, just like he already was in his dreams.

Foo thinks the shades really work for him... so he proceeded to break the board and steal them... bad Foo...

Mothman Returns

Foo had heard stories about the mythical mothman who was known to terrorize the town of Point Pleasant, WV. He was happy to actually find him when he visited the town.

Foo read up on the legend while visiting with the beast. Foo knows what really happened. As always, he was there.

Chief of the Corn

Foo was at least glad to see that the Indian chief that was defeated was actually honored in some way after being massacred. Although why he was can Cornstalk is beyond Foo. Maybe he liked to make things with them.

Altared State

Foo at first thought this was just a block of stone in a box.

But soon he learned that it was an altar stone used by some of the native tribes. Cool, but why the fence? Are the locals scared of mojo?

Anchor Away

When Foo found this anchor, he read up on it and learned that this anchor was the cause of some heinous accidents. Bad anchor...

Tiny Mansion

Foo was a little concerned about West Virginia when he saw that this is what they consider a mansion. He has bigger dreams than that. Weird.

Bridging Out

Being so close to the river, it was no wonder why this town had so many bridges. Foo crossed two of them just to get here. Hope they don't collapse!

Hard Read

Foo wasn't sure how this round marker was a magazine. It was hard to turn the pages and there were no pictures with the editorial. Foo got exhausted after a while and just laid back, panting.

Pleasant Battle

Although Foo wasn't sure how a battle could be pleasant, apparently in 1774, 1,000 riflemen defeated some Indian tribes... yeah... not so pleasant.

Still, they decided to put up a monument as if it were a good thing. It was really tall...

but the metal etchings really left Foo's stomach a bit unsettled. Such is life.

Rolling on the River Foo

Foo just couldn't resist jumping up onto this old steamboat paddle. He tried to run around it a la Scooby Doo, but he just didn't have the force to move it.

Foo settled for a walk through the Point Pleasant River Museum where learning is fun and murals are pretty.

Steamy Ice Cream

Being a town right on the river, it's fitting that this one has an ice cream shop made out of the control booth of a steamboat. Floaty and steamy... the interesting parts of ice cream. 

Four-Way Test

Foo is always trying to measure up to the best, and according to this town in Ohio, there are four ways to check.

Is it the truth? Even though he might not always be right, Foo never lies.

Is it fair to all? Foo always gives everyone and everything props for whatever they do.
Will it build goodwill with better friendships? Foo spreads good will and makes friends wherever he goes.
Will it be beneficial to all? Of course it will. Foo brings knowledge and fun and everything all around.
Yay Foo, PASS!

Dough Boy

 

Foo didn't understand how this guy was supposed to be made of dough, but regardless, the Viquesney Doughboy Statue was a fine memorial to all that had died in the country's various wars.

High Flooding

Being a town on the river isn't just beautiful views and boating fun. Apparently, this area has been know to flood a lot, and this pillar tells the tale with historical markers. Foo is just glad he can swim.

Exploding Fever

At first, Foo just thought this was a pretty abstract bird sculpture, but he's not the most perceptive so he took a closer look.

Apparently there was an steamer ship that broke down here, and unfortunately brought yellow fever to the town. Unlike other kinds of gifts, this was not so fun, causing 66 deaths. That wasn't cool.

Edge of Ohio

On the border of Ohio and West Virginia, Foo found these people who clearly preferred Ohio to West Virginia as they refused to point across the river at the other state.

Bitty Big Apple

Foo had heard that this was a big apple water tower. It kind of didn't live up to the hype. And this so was not the Big Apple. Foo's been there.

Doggy Guide

While Foo was on the hike, he met a new doggy friend who really took to Foo and stuck with him like glue.

Together, they took a look at the pretty petroglyphs from the viewing platform. Boy was it tail-wagging fun!

But when Foo had to say goodbye, his doggy friend was super sad. He follow Foo all the way to the car and chased him all the way down the road until Foo went a little too far from home.

Up Down High Low

Throughout the hike, Foo found it had its ups and down with stairways, overlooks, cliffs and more.

He even had to happily hop over a little river to get on his merry way.

Mossy Rock Adventure

Foo found many interesting sights on the forest walk. He was fascinated by the really cool cliffs that jutted out.

He also found a smooth and fluffy moss rock to sit on. It was so comfy, he wanted to snuggle up and sit down, but his friends wouldn't let him. So much more to do today!

But when Foo saw that other creatures had made their homes here, he was so excited, he tried to burrow in himself. Eventually he reluctantly agreed to continue on the hike.

Walk in the Woods

While looking for the pretty petroglyphs, Foo decided to go for a short hike in the woods nearby.

The path certainly was overgrown, and Foo thinks that some trolls, or maybe Hobbits live here. He searched and searched, but didn't find any... this time...

Leo in Stone

Foo was thrilled to find these petroglyphs in a forest in Ohio. Signs of early man and what they liked to draw is always fascinating to him.

After seeing them in person, Foo just really wanted to add his own mark, but there were signs that told him not to. Stupid signs.
