Foo learned that this is a representation of Houston and the world. The vertical
ring is the meridian of Houston, the wide band has the signs of the zodiac and is the
celestial equator and the rod with the ball is the Earth's axis and it points toward the North Star. Hmmm... who knew the Earth was so empty inside? Poor Earth.
